Our History
A New Community Ensemble ...
Sinfonia began more than a decade ago as the Society of Strings under the auspices of another Oklahoma City arts organization.

The Sinfonia Orchestral Society (Sinfonia!) began in August 2020.

In 2020, when the COVID pandemic arose and arts groups were discontinued, members of our orchestra decided to reorganize and formed a new ensemble, the Oklahoma City Sinfonia!

Who we are ...
The mission of Sinfonia! is to provide an educational structure for adults wishing to establish performance skills through orchestral activities while providing to the community cost-free performances of diverse musical genres (all while having fun)!

Members of the orchestra come from vocationally diverse backgrounds and experience. Some of our members began playing string instruments as adults while others have continued their playing from high school and college. In addition, there are current teachers and college students who use the opportunity to perform with Sinfonia! on their secondary instruments. Also, joining Sinfonia are invited guest musicians who serve as section assistants.
